Tune in to ESPN2 tonight at 7 PM Eastern to watch the Cavaliers take on Clemson. Virginia enters the game with an overall record of 17-3 and a 4-2 record in the ACC. The Cavaliers have won their last two games, including a 61-60 victory at NC State on Saturday (Jan. 28), and will be playing their third game in six days. In this week's national rankings, UVa is ranked 16th in The Associated Press poll and 18th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

Cavaliers Post 61-60 Road Win Over NC State (Video Highlights)



RALEIGH, N.C.-Senior forward Mike Scott scored a game-high 18 points and senior guard Sammy Zeglinski and sophomore guard Joe Harris each scored 12 points to lead the Virginia men's basketball team to a 61-60 victory over NC State in an Atlantic Coast Conference game at the RBC Center Saturday night (Jan. 28).

A three-point attempt by NC State sophomore guard Lorenzo Brown missed with one second left in the game.

The victory improves UVa's overall record to 17-3 and the Cavaliers are now 4-2 in the ACC. It was Virginia's fourth consecutive win over NC State.

In this week's national rankings, Virginia is ranked 19th in The Associated Press poll and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

UVa plays its third ACC game in six days on Tuesday (Jan. 31) when the Cavaliers host Clemson at John Paul Jones Arena. That game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2.

Watch UVa take on NC State Tonight at 8PM ET

 The Virginia men's basketball team plays its second Atlantic Coast Conference game in three days on Saturday (Jan. 28) when the Cavaliers play NC State in Raleigh, N.C., The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m.


Virginia enters the game with an overall record of 16-3 and a 3-2 record in the ACC. The Cavaliers are coming off a 66-49 victory over Boston College on Thursday (Jan. 26) at John Paul Jones Arena.
In this week's national rankings, UVa is ranked 19th in The Associated Press poll and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

NC State enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 15-6 and a 4-2 record in the ACC.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on the Virginia Sports Radio Network. It will also be televised by ESPN2 and carried on ESPN3.

No. 19 Cavaliers Down Boston College 66-49 (Video Highlights)



CHARLOTTESVILLE-Senior forward Mike Scott scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Virginia men's basketball team to a 66-49 victory over Boston College in an Atlantic Coast Conference game Thursday night (Jan. 26) at John Paul Jones Arena.

The victory improves UVa's overall record to 16-3 and the Cavaliers are now 3-2 in the ACC. Virginia is ranked 19th in this week's Associated Press poll and 21st in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

Junior guard Jontel Evans had 10 points and a game-high six assists for the Cavaliers and sophomore forward Akil Mitchell scored a career-high 10 points and had five rebounds. Freshman guard Malcolm Brogdon led Virginia with a career-high seven rebounds.

Virginia returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 28) when the Cavaliers play at NC State. That game is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN2.

Cavaliers Roll to 70-38 Win at Georgia Tech



ATLANTA, Ga.-Senior forward Mike Scott scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and sophomore guard Joe Harris had 16 points and five rebounds to lead the Virginia men's basketball team to a 70-38 victory over Georgia Tech at Philips Arena Thursday night (Jan. 19).

The 32-point margin of victory was Virginia's largest against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent since a 104-72 win over NC State on Jan. 29, 1991. It was UVa's largest road ACC win since a 107-74 win at Wake Forest on March 2, 1983.

The victory improves Virginia's overall record to 15-2 and the Cavaliers are now 2-1 in the ACC. Virginia is ranked 15th in this week's Associated Press poll and 17th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

UVa returns to action on Sunday (Jan. 22) when the Cavaliers host Virginia Tech at John Paul Jones Arena. That game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. and will be televised by ESPNU.

Cavaliers Top Miami 52-51 in ACC Opener

Senior forward Mike Scott scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Virginia to a 52-51 victory over Miami in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams Saturday night (Jan. 7) at John Paul Jones Arena. 

The victory improved UVa's overall record to 14-1 and the Cavaliers have now won 12 consecutive games. It's the first time Virginia has been 14-1 and has won as many as 12 games in a row since the 1981-82 season. Going back to last season, the Cavaliers have also won their last 10 home games.

In this week's national rankings, the Cavaliers are No. 21 in The Associated Press poll and No. 23 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll. Virginia returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 12) when the Cavaliers play at Duke. That game is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. (Eastern) and will be televised by ESPN.

Wahoos Prepare for ACC Opener vs Miami

CHARLOTTESVILLE-The Virginia men's basketball team opens the Atlantic Coast Conference portion of its 2011-12 schedule on Saturday (Jan. 7) when the Cavaliers host Miami at 6 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.

UVa takes an 11-game winning streak and a record of 13-1 into the game with the Hurricanes. Miami, coached by former Virginia assistant coach Jim Larranaga, is 9-4 on the season and has won its last four games. In this week's national rankings, the Cavaliers are No. 21 in The Associated Press poll and No. 23 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

Virginia's 13-1 start to the 2011-12 season is its best since going 27-1 to open the 1981-82 season when Larranaga was an assistant on Terry Holland's staff. The Cavaliers' 11-game winning streak is their longest since the 1992-93 season.

UVa has won its last nine home games, including eight this season. It's the second longest winning streak for the Cavaliers at JPJA.

Saturday's game (6PM Eastern) will be televised by ESPNU and carried on ESPN3.

BATON ROUGE, La.-Senior guard Sammy Zeglinski, sophomore guard Joe Harris and senior forward Mike Scott combined for 43 points and 16 rebounds Monday night (Jan. 2) to lead the Virginia men's basketball team to a 57-52 victory at LSU in the Cavaliers' final non-conference game of the 2011-12 regular-season.

The win was the 11th in a row for the Cavaliers who are now 13-1 on the season. In this week's national polls, Virginia is ranked No. 21 in The Associated Press poll and No. 23 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.

The loss broke a seven-game LSU winning streak and dropped the Tigers' record to 10-4.
It's the first time Virginia has won 11 consecutive games since the 1992-93 season and the Cavaliers are 13-1 to open a season for the first time since the 1981-82 season.

Zeglinski led UVa with 17 points and Harris finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Scott scored 12 points and had a team-high nine rebounds.

Geaux 'Hoos: Virginia Braces for LSU Challenge


At 7 p.m. Eastern, UVa (12-1) meets LSU (10-3) in a non-conference game that matches two of the nation's stingier teams. The Cavaliers are giving up an average of 50.3 points per game. The Tigers are allowing 60.4.

This is the final non-conference game of the regular season for UVa, which opens its ACC schedule Saturday night against Miami at John Paul Jones Arena. The Wahoos, who defeated LSU in Charlottesville last season, are coming off a victory over Towson, which stayed close for most of the game before finally succumbing 57-50 at JPJ.

NOTE: The game will be broadcast by the Virginia Sports Radio Network. It will be televised by Comcast Sports Southeast and also carried on ESPN3.
